OVERVIEW
A clinic management solution
The conception of our product stems from an understanding that the majority of existing HMS solutions are heavy, outdated, and solely aimed at larger clinics, neglecting smaller entities and solo practitioners. How can we introduce a fresh, streamlined, simple-to-grasp product capable of fulfilling a variety of needs?
Challenge
Design a streamlined hospital management system that could cater to the comprehensive needs of vast majority of clinics and individual practitioners.
Solution
By combining and improving upon the top feature set of competitors, LinkHMS simplifies processes of internal cooperation and patient-clinic interactions.
DISCOVER
What is the key for creating a well-designed HMS?
I explored what makes a successful HMS by surveying 12 healthcare professionals, conducting interviews with 5, and analyzing 4 competing products. The goal was to understand their needs for managing patients, scheduling, and communication. This research shaped a user-friendly HMS focused on efficient patient management, scheduling, and secure records, while ensuring data privacy.
Key Takeaways
Clinicians often rely on multiple systems for patient management, appointment scheduling, and communication
Customization of patient records and scheduling options is highly valued, allowing doctors and staff to tailor workflows to their specific needs
Many existing HMS solutions feel outdated, lack user-friendly interfaces, and struggle with reliability
A clear, intuitive dashboard for scheduling and patient management is essential for quick access and efficient decision-making

DEFINE
Differentiating in a niche market
Following participant questioning, I organized all attendees' feedback via an affinity diagram and feature grading, to distinguish major themes and potential improvements, as well as highlighting particular areas of difficulty that required my attention and enhancement.
An user persona was constructed using the aggregated data, with the aim of honing my choices and confirming the product addressed specific user pain points, frustrations and objectives.
User Persona
"Managing patient records and appointments was a constant struggle with slow software and endless paperwork. It took time away from patient care."

IDEATE
Creating a smooth journey
I started with hand-drawn sketches to understand which elements were necessary for each screen. Then, I hopped into Figma to create a simple user flow and low-fidelity prototype to start user testing.
Next, a usability study was then conducted to identify specific areas throughout the task flow where improvements or changes needed to be made. This test brought forth new ideas to further satisfy people’s needs, expectations and desires when using the product.
REFINE
An approach to design
Following the revisions and enhancements necessary for the low-fidelity prototype, I conducted one more usability examination to confirm the flow and screen layouts before commencing the detailed execution. Prior to the development of the high-fidelity screens, a distinctive visual identity was established to provide the product a unique aesthetic that would distinguish it from its competitors and create a connection with the users.
Drawing inspiration from modern healthcare facilities, the UI design embraces a clean and minimal approach, focusing on creating a refined, patient-centric experience.

The ultimate healthcare management solution
LinkHMS is like a personal assistant for healthcare providers, streamlining every aspect of patient care from scheduling appointments to tracking treatments. It connects doctors, nurses, and patients seamlessly, ensuring that each step of the care process is smooth, efficient, and tailored to individual needs.
Inspired by the precision and organization of top-tier hospitals, the UI design embraces a clean, user-friendly interface, focusing on delivering a patient-centric and professional experience.
Problems Solved

Enhances coordination between doctors, nurses, and patients
Centralizes patient data to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment
Provides instant access to patient history, improving decision-making in critical situations
Registration
The simple process allows user to create a whole clinic management flow or just to set an individual practitioner cabinet work
Scheduling
This is a very intuitive and straightforward process. By making just a few clicks, receptionists can create appointments for specific doctors
Patients Management
Patient is the main entity in the HMS. Also it is necessary to have an ability to remove patients' info completely by their request
EMR
Electronic Medical Record is the very core of the system. It is distributed into sections and subsections to have quick access to the patient's info
REFINE
There is no limit to perfection
It is absolutely clear that a lot of features are needed to be added to the system but there are definitely much more that could be done to create more suitable and comfy experience.
